Chevrolet Malibu Turbo Rated at 263 Horsepower

Let’s face it, the refreshed Chevy Malibu doesn’t envoke the same sort of excitement that its competition does, but what’s under the bonnet of the new turbo’d four likely will.

GM has just announced that the turbocharged four litre, replacing the tired and sluggish V6, will be good for 263 horsepower and 260 pound feet of torque. GM is claiming a 0-100 time of 6.3 seconds, which means it’s no slouch.

It’s also no gas guzzler either. One of the Malibu’s main selling points was its efficiency and that is expected to be improved as well, although no official ratings have been released yet.

Do you think this engine set up is enough to lure costomers away from the traditional heavy weights like the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima and Hyundai Sonata?
