Oh Hi: 2011 Audi Q7

With all the mild weather we’ve been having lately, it’s a bit puzzling that Audi would choose to release images of the 2011 Q7 in the snow. We’re all trying to forget that snow even exists.

No matter, the images also show a mild facelift in the form of typical Audi LED overload for both the headlights and tail lights and a small refresh to the front facia. Unfortunately, those homely looking wheels still remain.

The big news is under the hood where the V8 will be dropped in favour of a V6 that makes 272 horsepower and 295 pound feet of torque which is good enough to get this porker from 0-100 in 7.9 seconds. The V6 will likely add better fuel economy over the V8 and a new eight speed automatic will also help the Q7 manage its fuel consumption. A more powerful 3.0 version will make 333 horsepower and 324 pound foot torque.

The diesel will stick around and will make 240 horses and 405 pound foot torque. It’s up in the air whether this TDI will be available for us Canucks, but there’s a good chance we’ll get it since Audi will likely wish to compete with the X5 diesel from BMW.
