  • FAIL: Wannabe Lamborghini Reventon Camaro

Posted on May 13th, 2011 admin No comments

    Good God!

What you (unfortunately) see before you is actually a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro with roughly 230,000 kms on it that was poorly transformed into a Lamborghini. Not just any Lambo, but the much coveted and stupidly limited Reventon. And the worst part is, it’s for sale. Here’s the actual ad on eBay:

This incredible Rev Angel 300HP V-8 Exotic Replica Supercar was meticulously designed and handcrafted (light strong metal, not heavy fiberglass!) to resemble million dollar exotic supercars, without the costs, maintenance, repairs, insurance, etc.!!! It has a V-8 (300 HP- with the included intake plenum similar to the one pictured) LT-1 Chevy Engine with only 36,000 original miles which was replaced 95 miles ago!!! Also replaced recently (within the year) was the alternator, starter, and battery. It has a current safety inspection and emissions sticker and the title is free and clear.

This car will peal and smoke the tires from a stand still. It will virtually beat any tuner car, fiero replica, older corvette’s or so called muscle cars. The rear wheel track has been widened by 4 inches with wheel spacers to accomodate the widebody styling. The interior is a sporty stock Camaro Z-28. Side windows have been tinted with removable 20% VIS. The dash is cracked (easily fixed by a $35 dash cover) and the driver side seat bolster is torn (but can easily be fixed by some seat covers). The lights and electrical work and the A/C blows, but it needs a recharge (the heater works great).

If you want Supercar looks (attention and compliments galore!!!) in a daily driver that you can have at a tiny fraction of the cost, this is the car for you! This is the time to do it, since financial situation warrants letting it go for very much less than desired! NO RESERVE!!! The winner will take this home!

Thank you for looking and God Bless You abundantly!

Assuming you’re done laughing, one thing he…. no? You’re not done laughing? Okay, go ahead, let’ it all out.

Good now? Okay, what I was about to say was one thing he forgot to do was take the ugly Chevrolet steering wheel off. So even if he was somehow able to fool someone into thinking this was an actually Lamborghini, when they inevitably peer through the window to see its interior all they will see is the best thing GM could come up with circa 1994.

I sincerely hope this guy loses a bunch of money on this thing. It’s the only way he’ll learn.

  • Bucking the Trend: Canadians Prefer Mustang to Camaro

Posted on December 27th, 2010 admin No comments

For the first time in 25 years, the Chevrolet Camaro will outsell the Ford Mustang in the States this year. Ford has even conceded that its stallion will end up in the number 2 spot. In a bit of an odd trend, however, us Canadians apparently prefer the Mustang to the Camaro.

According to the New York Times, the Mustang’s sales is currently sitting at 4,935 units compared to the Camaro’s 3,974 sales.

This is especially odd since the Camaro is home grown, it’s built in Oshawa while the Mustang is built in Michigan.

Ford says it’s because the Mustang is “an icon” and many Canadians consider it to be their “dream car” (I must be in the minority if that’s the case). But really, the Camaro is fairly iconic as well.

GM says it’s because there is a lack of incentives on the Camaro and the convertible model is very limited at the moment.

Whatever the reason, it’s good to hear that Canadians aren’t so wrapped up in buying a product simply because it was made in our own backyard. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for supporting our workers and stimulating our economy, but the fact of the matter is, a car is the second biggest purchase someone will ever make. The decision on what to buy better go to the best car, and not simply because of where it was made.

I’m not suggesting that the Mustang is the better vehicle, however. I’m just saying that I’m glad Canadians are buying with their hearts and not what political figures tell them to do with their hard earned cash.

In any event, congrats to the Mustang. I think a test of both these vehicles are in order, wouldn’t you agree? I’ll get on it. I promise.

  • Bumblebee Gets Into Accident With Police Car!

Posted on October 12th, 2010 admin No comments

    Bumblebee nooooooooooooo!!

Alright, I’m gonna admit, I have no idea who Bumblebee is. I haven’t seen any of the transformers movies, despite the fact I used to be into transformers as a kid (the toys) and despite the fact that Megan Fox is a major character. But I can deduce from common sense that Bumblebee is a transformer, yes? He appears to be a Chevy Camaro in his car form.

Anyway, apparently producers are in the process of shooting for the third installment of the transformers series and things have not been going so well. The video above shows Bumblebee (or the Camaro that plays him) getting into an accident with an on duty police car that was apparently on its way to a call. It’s not clear if they were actually shooting at the time of the collision, however I would assume if they were, they would have blocked off the street before hand. Unless emergency vehicles are granted special access through movie sets in the interest of saving time or something. I’m not quite sure how these things work.

What is clear, however, is that the crew of the movie seemed to be a bit more concerned about the car than the driver, which is kinda messed up. They wasted no time putting a tarp over Bumblebee so that no sneaky photogs could catch a pic of him in his crumpled state. It turned out the driver was fine though. The police officer sustained minor injuries. Judging from the video, it would seem as though Bumblebee was at fault for not yielding to an emergency vehicle.

This is just the latest bad news for the new Transformers 3 movie. Apparently Megan Fox has not been casted this time around either. An injured Bumblebee and no Megan Fox? Now there’s really no reason to watch this movie.

  • Mustang Beats Camaro In Sales For May

Posted on June 2nd, 2010 admin No comments

    2010_ford_mustang_chevrolet_camaro_main

Ford is again doing quite well in sales thanks to some credible product offerings, one of which is the all new Mustang.

Even though the Camaro has a loyal following in pop culture, that hasn’t swayed people in the muscle car market. In the States last month the Stang sold 10, 225 units while Chevy was able to move 8,931 Camaros. I won’t even bother mentioning how Dodge did with the Challenger. Let’s just say it isn’t posing much of a challenge. Heh.

Ford has been winning many of the unavoidable comparison tests between the two pony cars, but Chevy hopes new revamped engines for 2011 will help it gain some ground.

    Which would you choose?

  • Told Ya: Lupe Fiasco Jumps Aboard Camaro Infatuation

I really should be some sort of marketing guru because I predicted that the new Chevrolet Camaro will be the new Cadillac Escalade among rappers. And you know it’s true if Lupe Fiasco is doing it. Lupe tends to not care so much about materialism or fame, in fact he has gone on record as saying he never wants to be famous (even though he kinda is already). Thing is, he still has a love for all things traditionally popular, he just doesn’t let it all cloud his judgment.

The traditionally anti-traditional rapper posted this pic of him and a Camaroo SS on his blog and I must admit, I was a little taken aback by Lupe’s choice of ride, despite all the hoopla surrounding the Camaro in the hip hop world. I expected him to be in some sort of Japanese rocket like a Nissan GT-R. Lupe claims he’s “American mentally with Japanese tendencies” so I guess this is just his inner American coming out. I suppose there’s nothing wrong with that.

But what makes it even more forgivable than that is he is using the Camaro for a charity run called ‘Run to the sun’ where he and Caleb Garrett will drive from Chicago to Los Angles in order to raise money for homeless shelters.

Oh, and Lupe already named his Camaro. It’s called ‘Skull Leader Zero’. I kinda thought that was a stupid name at first, but for some reason it’s growing on me. I totally admire him for keeping the Camaro stock and resisting the temptation to put ridiculously massive rims on it like some people.

  • LeBron James Loves to Ball… In Every Sense of the Word

Posted on April 6th, 2010 admin No comments

LeBron James is undoubtedly one of the best players in basketball now. As a result, he makes millions of dollars. So not only does he ball on the court, but he also balls at da mall. Sorry. We mean he balls at the mall.

Anyway a true baller can’t have just any ride so Lebron’s ride of choice in Orlando this weekend was a Chevy Camaro SS with massive white rims and a custom sound system.

A lot of the video above is just screaming girls surrounding the man himself which, admittedly we don’t really care about, so we fast forwarded to the best part of the vid, when he gets into his Camaro and drives off blasting Snoop’s “I Wanna Rock”.

See it around the 2:28 mark.

Is it us or is the Camaro quickly becoming a replacement to the Escalade for rappers, rock stars and professional athletes?
