Emergency Refresh of 2013 Honda Civic Spied

Remember the ’emergency refresh’ that Honda is pushing through on the Civic due to a scathing reviews from North American auto journalists? And how Honda told dealers that they better start clearing out their 2012 Civics because “changes made to the 2013 model will make the outgoing 2012 Civic a difficult model [to] sell when they are side to side”?

Well this is the latest spy shot of that ’emergency refresh’. Yeah. So, true to Honda form, it looks like they did more of a nip and tuck to the exterior but are trying to sell this to us as a major refresh. I guess we all should have expected that. Anyway,  it looks like there will be an updated grill, slightly revised headlights and fog lights up front and a few minor changes out back.

With that being said, there is likely more significant changes to the interior as that was one of the main contentious issues with the current version as critics panned it as being less refined and less premium feeling.

There is also a rumour that Honda has updated the suspension and engine units, which would be the real story here, but we’ll have to wait until the refresh version bows on November 29th for more info.
