Oh Hi: 2013 Nissan Altima

Nissan has finally pulled the wrap on the 2013 Altima.

The car has received a full exterior redesign incorporating more of the Nissan corporate look. The new Altima gets projector style head lights as well as LED tail lights on higher trim levels, which by the way, are quite numerous. There will be a whopping seven trim levels to choose from: 2.5, 2.5 S, 2.5 SV and 2.5 SL for the four cylinder engine choices. There’s the 3.5 S, 3.5 SV and 3.5 SL to choose from for the 3.5 litre V6 which carries over from last year.

The 2.5 four on the other hand has been revised to be a bit more powerful developing 182 horses. Both engines come with Nissan’s Xtronic CVT automatic which should hel boost fuel efficiency numbers. For those who cringe at the thought of a CVT, Nissan makes among the best CVT in the business, especially when paired with bigger engines. No word yet on if a manual transmission will be offered, let us hope.

Other improvements include revamped four-wheel disc brakes, a new electronic hydraulic power steering system and new shocks.

Perhaps the biggest story is the re-worked interior which includes a mass amount of safety and tech features such as blind spot, lane departure and moving object warning systems.

With  the redesign of the Camry and Malibu, do you think the Altima has what it takes?
