Oh Hi: 2011 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

When rumours starting swirling on the internet that Nissan was planning on making a cabriolet version of the Murano, I didn’t bother even blogging about it because I thought there was no way that they were true. I was wrong.

Here is, officially, the 2011 Murano CrossCabriolet. Nissan officially unveiled this photo on their facebook page. I got to admit, it’s not nearly as bad as I had envisioned. Then again, most convertibles look decent with the top down. I’ll reserve final judgment for when I see pics with the top up. Anyway, Nissan has really been pushing the envelope lately with segment bending products such as the Cube and the Juke. This new Murano CrossCabriolet is just another piece of the puzzle. And it certainly won’t be the last as I’m hearing the design language for the new Quest (yes, they’re bringing it back) is just as bold.

According to a Nissan rep, the Murano CrossCabriolet apparently “delivers the open-air exhilaration of a convertible while extending the versatility of the Murano in exciting new ways.” And it does so by being able to have enough room in the trunk for a golf bag with whether the top is up or down. Yup, that’s all the info Nissan is giving so far.
