Cadillac’s CT6 Makes First Official Debut During Oscars

By Kevin Harrison

In a move similar to Nissan debuting the new Maxima during the Super Bowl, Cadillac has unveiled its Mercedes-Benz S-Class fighter, the CT6, during the Oscars last night.

In what can only be described as an intense commercial, Cadillac gave lots of inspirational examples for those who dared. After mentioning daring hairdressers, fashion designers, wall street analysts and more with inspirational phrases, Cadillac finishes the commercial be mentioning how daring it is that Cadillac has reinvented themselves.

It is then that we get our first peek at the white CT6 driving along. Unfortunately this is more a marketing exercise for the brand itself, so there was no detail announced for the CT6. Those details won’t be coming until the CT6’s official debut at the New York Auto Show at the beginning of April.

We do know that the CT6 is meant to go head to head with the aforementioned Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the BMW 7-Series and the Audi A8. It will also incorporate a large amount of aluminum to keep its weight down. It’s also the first Cadillac to incorporate the brand’s new naming system.

Check out the full commercial below. Initial thoughts on the CT6?
