A Benz For Blue Collared Folk? Mercedes Bringing Vito to Canada as Metris

You may not know that Mercedes-Benz has been selling commercial work vans in North America for quite some time now. In fact, you may have seen a Dodge Sprinter or two puttering around making deliveries in your neighbourhood. That’s actually a re-badged Mercedes-Benz Sprinter that was developed during the Daimler-Benz days.

Mercedes has since been selling the Sprinter on our shores with its three pointed star on the grille, but it isn’t exactly cheap. It starts at 50 grand.

Blue collared workers rejoice, there will be a cheaper version coming called the Metris. Called the Vito in other world markets, the Metris will slot just beneath the Sprinter.

In a very unGerman-like way, Mercedes decided to introduce the Metris to North Americans at SEMA – a auto show where manufacturers created tuned versions of their models for the fast and furious crowd. Check it out above.
